The Institute of Environmental Hydraulics of the Universidad de Cantabria «IHCantabria» is a mixed research centre, which carries out an enormous amount of research, technology transfer and specialist training. This work has placed IHCantabria among the national and international elite in the area of scientific-technological knowledge related to the water cycle in its various facets. IHCantabria is formed by more than 200 researchers and has more than thirty years of experience.

IHCantabria’s facilities have been financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, the Government of Cantabria and the European Union’s ERDF funds to become a Singular Scientific and Technical Installation (ICTS).
